Minerva....Goddess of Wisdom ?
For the last couple of days I have been 'Down in the dumps'. The passing of Jack Brabham has had more effect than I would have thought...perhaps it was because he was the same age as my Dad [88] when he died? Whilst in a similar 'low', after Dad died, I went and bought my friend's 30/98 Vauxhall.
Well...I've done it again! A car that I have admired for many years needed a 'new custodian', so it now is mine to care for. It is a 1924 Minerva AB.
This fine old lady has NEVER been un-registered in it's life, still wears the original [vitreous enamel] number-plates. I will be the third owner.
Damn!!!!!...What have I done???

Well firstly Greg, I have to say you do have that fine lady fully in focus, not something we are accustomed to on this forum from you.
I suppose you could always run coach tours from the look of it, and should ever decide to get married (again?) it would be a splendid means of transport.
Whatever, I am sure you will provide the good home she needs and deserves. G'd onya cobber.

Greg,
A great picture, and in black and white, Pete will be pleased. As a matter of interest how many cars do you own? It sounds like an interesting collection.
I have amongst my treasured memories a CD of interviews I recorded with some of the greats of motor sport including Uncle Jack, I will see if I can work out how to e-mail a copy to you, but if you PM an address I will send a copy of the CD.
How about a short report on the Morgan for BHP, I know that many will be intrigued to follow progress, as they are all nuts about Morgans of every vintage.
And talking of old pictures......................
Cheers,
Bob.

Re: Minerva....Goddess of Wisdom ?
Been busy getting the Minerva ready for the VSCCA 70th Anniversary Rally [next month].
As well as needing a set of the correct wheels, the generator was not charging, front shocks weren't working, the plastic [trailer] blinker lights looked horrible, etc, etc. I will not restore the car, however it should be reliable, and nice to drive....and look at.
In January, 2015 it will have been fully registered for 90 years !
